The Woolsack Races are what we are all here for. But there is not just one race throughout the day, we have a whole day of individual, team, youth events; each with numerous heats. Below is a race schedule, highlighting all the race events for the day.

Presentations
All the trophies and presentations will be made after each block of races. Presentation will be held up the hill, at the Market House at the centre of town. Timings are listed below:
- 12:30 Youth Trophies – Richard Avis Memorial, School Races Youth Race
- 14:00 Team Trophies – Women’s Relay, Men’s Relay, Mixed Relay
- 16:30 Individual Trophies – Women’s Individual, Men’s Individual

Team
Relay event of four racers, taking turns running down and up Gumstool Hill.
£40 entry fee
Individual
Single leg running from the bottom of Gumstool Hill to the top.
£20 entry free
Youth
Team relay for 14-17 yrs. Race with 35lb sacks.
£30 entry fee
Primary School
Team relay for primary school students. Race with pillow cases. Organised in school
Men’s
Men’s weight is 60lb
Women’s
Women’s weight is 35lb
Youth
Youth weight is 35lb

ENTRANTS ARE ADVISED TO WALK THE COURSE BEFORE COMPETING
- Signup closes Tuesday 19 May 2026. No Entries will be accepted on the day or after this time.
- All entrants run at their own risk and MUST be have the relevant level of fitness to compete in such a race.
- Every competitor MUST individually sign and return the liability waiver form, which will be sent out upon signup.
- All teams / competitors MUST report to Race Control ONE HOUR PRIOR to your race.
- Trophies will be awarded after each section; Youths, Teams, Individuals
- Teams shall comprise no more than 4 individuals and will only win 1 prize in the form of a trophy which must be returned in 1 year’s time for the next races.
