We wish all our valued visitors and competitors all the very best and we look forward to hosting the 2022 Races on 'The Hill'.

The World's #1 Woolsack Race

Car Parking & Directions

Tetbury is on the edge of the Cotwolds, near the border of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire in the south west of the UK.

Car Parking and Directions

All those wishing to drive to enjoy the Woolsack are advised that car parking is charged at £4 per vehicle and you can stay as long as you wish on the day.
All proceeds from car parking charges go to local charities.

The centre of Tetbury will be closed to traffic and parking restrictions will be enforced throughout the town. Please ensure you park in the designated car park and do not block roads for emergency vehicles or residents drive ways.  A small disabled viewing area will be available at Kingsley House at the top of Gumstool Hill and we are very grateful to them for allowing this.

Traffic diversions

Please note that Diversions will be in operation around Tetbury on the day as the town is shut to through traffic.

The car park site can be approached from two directions.

From the A46 Stroud/Nailsworth road.  Approach the town centre from Beverston on the A4135.  Pass the Fire Station on the right and continue for 75m then turn left into the Dolphins Hall, entrance to the recreation ground is through the gate at the rear of this area.

From Minchinhampton/Avening.  Approach the town on the B4014 (Hampton Street) passing the small Premier Stores on your left.  Continue for approximately 250m and turn sharp right into Chavenage Lane, as you turn you will see the entrance to the recreation ground on your left.

Celebrities

Last year's celebrity guest was Eddie the Eagle Edwards! We would like to thank him for opening the Races and being such a star. In 2018 the co-host of BBC's CountryFile, and former Tetburian  Ellie Harrison started the Races for us and brought some family members to compete.

Beneficiaries

If you are a registered charity or local project and would like to be considered as one of next year's beneficiaries then please contact us on social media. Closing date for applications is the 30th of November the previous year.

Committee

We are a very small committee.
If you would like to join us, or help with preparations or on the day please contact us.
Thanks for your support.
